Any speaker, preacher, teacher, coach, book writer, etc. who gives on advice on how to live and does not back it up with the Word of God does not represent God and His Word and is therefore against the Lord. Satan and his servants disguise themselves as angels of light. They act like they are talking like servants of the Lord but they do not back up their words and writings with the word of God.

The following verses support this & and show how to recognize false prophets with the test located in 1 John 4:1-3. There are TONS of false prophets out there now. Some claim to be Christians and some profess other beliefs/religions/ways of life. You have to red the Word of God and ask for God’s wisdom to be able to recognize false prophets.

The following verses support this. It’s always best to read the entire chapter of suggested verses to understand the Word in context.

“For you gladly tolerate anyone who comes to you and preaches a different Jesus, not the one we preached; and you accept a spirit and a gospel completely different from the Spirit and the gospel you received from us!” 2 Corinthians 11:4

“I will go on doing what I am doing now, in order to keep those other “apostles” from having any reason for boasting and saying that they work in the same way that we do. Those men are not true apostles—they are false apostles, who lie about their work and disguise themselves to look like real apostles of Christ. Well, no wonder! Even Satan can disguise himself to look like an angel of light! So it is no great thing if his servants disguise themselves to look like servants of righteousness. In the end they will get exactly what their actions deserve.” 2 Corinthians 11:12-15

“My dear friends, do not believe all who claim to have the Spirit, but test them to find out if the spirit they have comes from God. For many false prophets have gone out everywhere. This is how you will be able to know whether it is God’s Spirit: anyone who acknowledges that Jesus Christ came as a human being has the Spirit who comes from God. But anyone who denies this about Jesus does not have the Spirit from God. The spirit that he has is from the Enemy of Christ; you heard that it would come, and now it is here in the world already.” 1 John 4:1-3
